Annual General Meeting
The EAF AGM took place on Sunday 7th March 2010 at the Latton Bush Centre, Harlow. The agenda had been previously circulated to all clubs. The highlights of the event included the customary reports and the installation of Malcolm Tinn as President (see article above). For the first time, there was a report from the Webmaster - David Steel has now taken over this role from Tony Sweet and as he is also a member of the Executive Committee, it was appropriate that he should take the floor and describe some of the new changes brought about by the new Web site.
Other key points that were highlighted during the meeting covered:
- The Trustee Liability insurance negotiated by the PAGB with the insurers. The PAGB Executive have agreed that they will strongly recommend at the PAGB AGM that they should enter into a Trustee Liability Insurance policy on behalf of Member Clubs, the amount of the premium (approximately £6 per Club) to be recovered pro rata from the Federations as an addition to the Annual Club Subscription.
- The additional requirements imposed by the PAGB for the awards of AFIAP and EFIAP over and above that defined by FIAP themselves mean that it may be more difficult to gain FIAP awards in the UK than elsewhere. Further, Wales and Scotland are affiliated separately to the FIAP and Wales have taken the decision that the criteria set by FIAP for the A & EFIAP distinctions will apply meaning that members living in England and Scotland will find it more difficult to achieve FIAP recognition than their Welsh counterparts.
- The proposed amendment to copyright legislation regarding the use of unattributed images as may be found on the Internet is being pursued by the Royal Photographic Society. See separate news article.
