The East Anglian Federation

The East Anglian Federation (EAF) of Photographic Societies was founded in 1910 and is now in its centenary year. The EAF is a constituent founder Member of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB), which is the parent organisation for camera clubs and photographic societies throughout the UK. Having 120 member clubs and societies with in excess of 4000 individual members, the EAF is now the largest federation in the PAGB covering the area of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and that part of Hertfordshire which lies to the east of the M1 motorway.

The EAF's objectives are:

to promote the advancement of photography by facilitating contacts and exchange of opinion between members of one society and another
to promote exhibitions and competitions, to maintain a list of photographic judges and lecturers and organise courses, workshops and events which may be of service to member societies and thus their individual members

Photography is of course a hobby and although serious, must be fun too. We are known as a warm, friendly and welcoming Federation, where anyone interested in photography whether as raw beginners or amateurs of international renown can learn from fellow photographers and develop their photographic skills,

Alternatively, if there is not a club near you and you along with a few like minded photographers would like to form a club, but would like some help, then please feel free to contact the Hon. General Secretary and/or other Members of the Federation’s Committee.

The EAF's affairs are run by the Executive Committee drawn from all parts of the Federation area (full details within this site), who voluntarily and freely give much time and effort to ensure that a range of activities is available to its member mlubs and their individual members, including:

Inter Club Print and Projected Image Competitions
Two Event Days each year covering projected images and prints, bringing speakers normally unavailable to individual clubs, from outside the region to the area
Annual Exhibition
Judges Workshops for aspiring new and experienced judges
Judges & Lecturers List
Club Directory
Digital Portfolio of images accepted in the Annual Exhibition available for a club evening
A Newsletter known as The Bulletin circulated to clubs and their members twice a year, containing the results of Competitions, details of the Annual Exhibition and Events, together with other articles and items of general interest to members
