The Bulletin

February 2010

The Bulletin Cover, February 2010As well as the usual updates from the Executive Committee about what is happening in the EAF, there is also up-to-date information on changes to lectures, judges and clubs so please note these and update your handbooks accordingly. There is also further information about forthcoming events, in particular, the World of Colour event taking place on 7th March at the Latton Bush Centre in Harlow where we are expecting to see some top-notch AV sequences from Ian Bateman FRPS MPAGB and some award-winning creative images from Rikki O'Neill FRPS MPAGB. With both these speakers being Fellows of the 'Royal' and Masters of the PA, we can be assured that it's an event not to be missed.

Also in this edition, Malcolm Tinn describes a fascinating project to introduce photography to schools initiated by Harlow PS, David Steel describes how we used to 'cook the film', Martin Burrage describes how a large club, Welwyn Garden City Photo Club, has introduced Members' Evenings so that their membership can better appreciate the talents of fellow members, as well as describing a mentoring scheme for newer members with less photographic experience.

Bob Willams also asks "What's in a Name?", Gordon Anderson tells us how to photograph the moon and David Steel gives us an insight into what judges look for. In yet another article, Gordon Anderson tells us a bit more about pixels and Jim Hartje reports on Country File Calendar Success. There is also an obituary to the last Tony Hogarth FCA, a long-serving member of Great Yarmouth & District Photographic Society.

In all, we have a bumper 28-page edition of The Bulletin. Enquire at your club to see a copy or click here to view a PDF version online. Previous editions of The Bulletin are available on our Downloadable Documents page.
